"Hi Passport Community!! My name is Kallie Hester, and this was my first time being apart of the Wellness Passport! I really enjoyed getting to be apart of it, because it was so cool getting to see all the different types of gyms and exercises classes in the Birmingham area! I loved getting to try so many different types of classes that I might not have normally tried if it wasn’t for the Wellness Passport! I loved getting to meet others that were also apart of the Wellness Passport, and getting to challenge myself with all the classes! I wish the Wellness Passport didn’t have to end!!

Meet our Week 5 featured Passport holder, @kingston101!

"Hi! I'm Kingston, and this is my first time doing the Wellness Passport! I heard about it last year from someone in a class I was taking, and as soon as I learned about it, I loved the concept—being able to try out all kinds of gyms, spas, restaurants, and more. I wanted to join last year, but unfortunately, I missed the deadline. This year, I was determined not to miss out!

When I finally picked up my Passport book, I felt a bit overwhelmed, but in a good way—there were just so many exciting options to choose from! I've tried a variety of classes, some multiple times because they were so enjoyable. One standout was a couples' massage class, where I learned both how to give and receive a massage, which was such a fun experience. I’ve also been doing the Gauntlet class, and it’s been so much fun that sometimes I forget I’m even working out!

I’m already looking forward to next year's Passport and all the new experiences it will bring. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new from the Passport! Even if you’re going alone and don’t know anyone, just show up and embrace the experience. You’ll meet great people along the way, and the Passport community is incredibly welcoming. It’s a great way to discover new things and connect with others while prioritizing your well-being!"

Meet our Week 4 featured Passport holder, @simplyshel.isbell!

"Hi! I'm Michelle, and this is my 4th year doing the Wellness Passport! I've always been into health and wellness, and when a friend told me about the Wellness Passport four years ago, I knew I had to try it! I've looked forward to 'passport season' ever since! I love trying new studios and local businesses this community offers. As a 53 y/o mom of two teenage boys, staying fit and healthy for them is very important. What I need in this phase of life is different than in my 20's, 30's, and even 40's, so trying new things to meet my needs now is one of the things I love about the passport! Another reason I love the passport is that it offers workshops and businesses focused on mental health and well-being, not just physical!

Some of the new studios I've tried this year are @supertone.fit, @bodyrokbirmingham, and @true40homewood. I LOVE each for their amazing workouts, supportive communities, and beautiful spaces! I also stepped out of my comfort zone to try a hot sauna and cold plunge contrast therapy at @rcvryhouse, something I’ve been dying to try and it didn’t disappoint! I love meeting up with friends at some of my favorite studios, including @mpowerbhm, @purebarre280, @archivebhm, and @barre3birmingham. I ended my week with a great massage at @theretreatbham and a delicious live-roasted s’more from @deliciouslybetter! The welcoming Birmingham wellness community continues to amaze me, and I’ve made so many inspiring friends along the way!

My usual wellness routine includes Pure Barre, Pilates, walks outside, and family time. However, being a part of the passport has encouraged me to rotate in other studios I’ve discovered throughout the year. Plus, as a member of the Well, I enjoy studio and business discounts, recipes, and community events all year long!"

Meet our Week 3 featured Passport holder, @dylanfern!

"Hi! I'm Dylan and I am a Wellness Passport veteran. I have been doing the passport since the very first one and try not to miss it when it comes around. Since then, I have had two kids and have done the passport during various phases of motherhood! One year I was in the postpartum phase so I took advantage of nourishing foods, Thrive's Pelvic Floor Workshop, and PM Method! In other years I've had lots of energy and strength and you could find me at Archive, True40, Gauntlet, and barre3! I love to reflect back and see the ebbs and flows of my personal wellness and mom journey.

I feel the strongest when I know I have good strong form and when I'm accommodating an exercise for what I need. I've learned so many great tools from all of the passport resources and workshops.

The Wellness Passport is such a great fit for me because there are so many incredible fitness and wellness spaces in Birmingham so it is hard to choose one. I also love being part of the Well membership all year round so I can keep checking out new places after passport season ends!"

"Hi! My name is Christy- I am a student at UAB and this is my first time with the Wellness Passport! I heard about the Passport last year right as they sold out, so I made sure to pick up a copy earlier this year. I have loved being able to try out so many different studios, classes, and businesses around Birmingham that I didn’t know about before. Each place has offered a unique vibe and a fresh perspective on wellness which has been so exciting! The Passport has helped me to build community through connecting with other Passport holders who are also trying many of these places for the first time. I've met so many friendly faces which has made the whole experience even better. I attend most classes with my friend, Sarah, who is featured in most of these pictures. So far, we’ve tried @purebarrebirmingham, @basecampcahabaheights, and @supertone.fit for the first time. We also went to our tried and true favorites, @true40bham and @calacoffeeco. Meet our Week 1 featured Passport holder, @bmmaddox_!

"Hi! I’m Brooke! I am an instructor at Pure Barre 280 and this year was my first year doing the Wellness Passport. I have absolutely love it so far! I have been a @purebarre280 instructor for several years and took PB for 5 years prior to teaching. SO, trying different workout methods and meeting people in the wellness community has been so much fun! I started my week at @square_1_nutrition, getting my favorite, strawberry/pina colada beauty tea. It was delicious as always!! Next, I winded down at @riseandrefinehotyoga. So relaxing, it was definitely a perfect way to end a long Tuesday. Wednesday morning I met my friend at @bodyrokbirmingham for Pilates. I loved it! I could not feel my legs for 3 days… Thursday, a group of us went to the new @true40homewood studio in Homewood for a morning class. I love trying a new form of Barre. TRX was such a fun twist!! Not to mention their stunning new studio. Friday morning I spent at my home studio @purebarre280. I taught our Classic class bright and early followed by Align, our balance and stretch class. I ended the week trying something way out of my element, a cycling class at @ignitecyclebhm. I was terrified, but it was absolutely amazing!! The music, lights, and all around vibe was so empowering!"
